Home-cooked food is something to be savoured. The flavours and taste of the creations remain in the inner recesses of the mind, unforgotten and you will have wonderful ‘yummy’ memories.

Besides, learning to prepare Malaysian home-cooked food, you will also get an interesting insight into the culture and social structure of the country. The atmosphere of camaraderie is excellent; you will get to mingle with other visitors to the country as well as friendly residents and expatriates simply eager to learn to cook.
  
Well then, come join us at LaZat for a few hours to experience Malaysian hospitality and you’ll not only get an opportunity to enjoy home-cooked Malaysian dishes, you’ll also learn how to prepare the dishes the way they have been done for generations. A fun alternative to shopping and sightseeing!

Make sure you take the time to enjoy the herb garden within the compound, which is alive with local herbs like cilli padi, tumeric plants, lemongrass, curry leaves, kafir and lime, ingredients used in local cooking.



Spend half a day with us starting from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, Tuesdays to Saturdays except on Malaysian Public Holidays. The classes, conducted in English, will be kept small between 3 to 10 guests to ensure proper supervision. 
Guests will be allotted individual fully equipped cooking stations and you will cook your food  with lots of assistance. And no washing up!!!

Take the rare hands-on experience of cooking in a Malaysian home environment using traditional stone and wooden utensils in a modern kitchen. All the necessities will be provided from the cooking utensils, stove and aprons. You will cook using fresh ingredients bought from the local markets.

Importantly, learn to cook a variety of traditional and special festive Malay, Chinese, Indian and some Thai dishes. Pointers will be given on Malaysian cooking etiquette as well as some valuable tips and tricks of authentic Malaysian dishes. Precious family recipes passed down from generation to generation will be shared as well as the finer details of preparing the dishes.
At LaZat, you will not only take pleasure in your creations with the others and socialise, but most importantly, you will have fun doing it.
The price of one class/menu is RM200.00 per person.  Transport can be arranged at additional cost.   The prices quoted are fully inclusive and include local taxes.

Special Classes and different dishes in addition to our regular menus & schedule can be arranged for groups, subject to prior agreement.
